Laura Linney is an American actor who has become well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. While spending her summers in the home of her father, she developed an interest for the stage. Following her studies in Brown University for a while before transferring to Juilliard School to study acting. The actress began her Broadway career after her graduation, and then made her television debut the following year. Since then she has been appearing in a variety of films, TV shows and stage performances. In her long career, she has received several awards. Some of them comprise 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of all the awards she has received the theatre is still her primary passion and she continues to perform both on screen and on stage.
