Allison Brooks Janney has been an American actress for more than twenty years. She is well-known for her work on the screen and stage. She's also been nominated for 2 Tony Awards and has won an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, the Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. After more than two decades in regional theater and on stage, actress Allison Janney became a household actor playing White House press secretary C.J. Gregg on the popular and acclaimed television drama The West Wing (NBC 1999-2006). Allison Janney has always been a late bloomer. It took her a full year more than her Ohio classmates to earn an driver's license. It wasn't until she was 17 that she went on the first date until after when she entered the university. Although she auditioned at the age 23, Faris wasn't able to start starring onscreen until she was in the age of 30. Faris is very picky about the roles she takes on since leaving Mom in the year 2000. The exception to this is 2022's The Estate. Faris has told PEOPLE specifically that this was not a choice she made. Anna Faris had left CBS's popular sitcom Mom prior to the final eighth season. Faris initially stated she was leaving to pursue new opportunities. However, now she is revealing more details about why she decided to quit acting. It was not an intentional choice. Janney had been sporting a fake wig ever since she started the series. Fallon said to her "'Guys I've been wearing an wig since the beginning of season 1, but no one knew. Now all of the people on earth are conscious.'" Janney is planning to carry the wig with her to keep as a souvenir. In the beginning of her series, Janney earned anywhere from $125,000 to 250,000 dollars per show. Faris, along with co-star Allison Janey, are estimated to have earned $200,000 an episode by the end of season 4, or in third season.
